Castastrophic Sick Leave
A catastrophic sick leave bank of employee donated sick
leave hours to assist full-time employees who are on an unpaid
leave of absence due to non-occupational illness or injury.
Compensatory Time
The seasonal nature of work at Cleveland Metroparks requires
certain positions to work substantial hours beyond the 40
hour work week, which may include greater than normal eight
hour days, or to work days which are normally "days off" for
that position. The Park District has developed methods of
recognizing compensatory time.
Credit Union
Membership is available for both savings plans and loans.
Payroll deductions may be used.
Deferred Compensation Program
A tax shelter savings program which allows you to save money
through payroll deduction before taxes are paid. Interest
is earned on savings without paying current taxes. Wide choice
of investment options.
Education
Tuition Reimbursement - for appropriate course work
and/or degree program
Conferences - conference and training costs and travel
Professional Membership - Partial reimbursement for
one professional membership
License and Certification - 100% reimbursement for
license and certification defined by job description
Employee Assistance Program
Confidential, voluntary program to resolve personal and family
problems.
Flexible Benefit Plan
Medical and/or Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts enable
employees to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to offset
medical deductibles, co-pays, and other expenses not covered
by the health plan, and eligible dependent care expenses.
Free Admission and Discounts
Employee is entitled to free golf green fees, including use
of handcart. Free admission to Cleveland Metroparks Zoo/The
Rainforest and certain local museums for employee and immediate
family. Discounts at EarthWords Bookshop, The Chalet, golf
pro shops and gift shops.
Holidays
12 days per year: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day,
President's Day, Good Friday*, Memorial Day, Independence
Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving
Day, Day after Thanksgiving Day*, and Christmas Day. Union
members, see contract. * May be used as floating holidays.
Hospitalization
Group hospital, surgical and medical protection. Your choice
of Medical Mutual of Ohio, Prudential HealthCare, and Kaiser
HMO.
Leave of Absence
Paid/unpaid leave for medical, personal/family, jury duty,
and military.
Life Insurance
$10,000 Cleveland Metroparks paid group term life insurance
with accidental death and dismemberment. Voluntary employee
paid group life insurance with accidental death and dismemberment,
includes optional spouse and dependent coverage. Premium paid
through payroll deduction.
Long Term Disability
Following 180 days of disability, benefit equal to 50%
of base pay per month for up to 36 months.
Retirement Plan
Participation in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
Partial retirement income may be paid with at least five years
credit and are at least sixty years of age. No withholding
for Social Security (except 1.45% Medicare). Nontaxed. PERS
plan has disability and survivor benefits. Employee contributes
8.5% and Cleveland Metroparks contributes 13.55%; 9% and 16%
respectively for Rangers.
Sick Leave
4.6154 hours of sick leave per 80 hours of employment,
to a maximum of 15 days per year.
Vacation
0-7 years = 12 days per year; 8 - 14 years = 18 days per year;
15 - 19 years = 24 days per year; 20+ years = 25 days per
year.
