Wood Duck Festival
Sunday October 19
noon - 5 p.m.
North Chagrin Nature Center
North Chagrin Reservation • Mayfield Village
Many say the area around North Chagrin Nature Center is one of the best places in the world to see and photograph wood ducks. And, we know that it is a great place to enjoy the breathtaking fall foliage.
The free event features nationally-acclaimed nature photographer Gustav Verderber, a juried photography exhibit of local artists' pieces, natural history presentations on the wood duck, optics presentations, decoy and wood carving exhibitors, photographer/artist/retail vendors exhibiting and selling, a variety of crafts and games for kids, a harvest produce stand, musical entertainment, and more!
As part of the event, the juried photography exhibit will be featured in the nature center. Entries are submitted in two categories: wood ducks/other native water birds and Northeast Ohio fall colors/fall season landscapes, with first, second and third place prizes awarded in both categories, as well as a 'best of show' winner.
The event also features a variety of kids crafts and games, including duck bean bag toss, x-stream duck racing, sand bottle art, clay duck making, leaf print note cards, and a build-a-duck station.
