Kids Can Explore Nature At Cleveland Metroparks Knee-High Naturalists Event
Do you have a Knee-High Naturalist? A nature-lover age 2 – 6? This event is perfect for young children and their families.
There will be many fun activities for families to enjoy:
Catch a live crayfish
Play in a pond playground
Borrow a nature costume
Find and make your own ugly-necktie snake
Listen to some groovin’ nature tunes
Dig in our corncob filled pools
Meet a naturalist
Play in an Earthboat
Enjoy nature games
Take a hike with Nora the Explorer
Chill while you watch a performance of Naturepiece Theater
Light snacks and beverages available for sale
Look out for our Roving Chipmunk friend to meet and greet
And, don’t forget your camera to catch some great shots of your kids!
You may want to plan at least an hour and a half for your children to enjoy the activities.

The Arboretum is located off Arbor Lane in South Chagrin Reservation, north of Cannon Road in Bentleyville. Parking is at The Shelterhouse Picnic Area, located off Hawthorn Parkway, east of SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Bentleyville – north of the Route 422/Route 91 exit. A bus shuttle will be available, or it is a pleasant 5-minute trail walk to the Arboretum from The Shelterhouse.
