Garfield Park Reservation

Celebrate Garfield Park

Join Naturalist Natanie Moore at the nature center to begin this hike. Along the way learn about the rich history of this park.

North Chagrin Reservation

Morning in the Forest

Join us to enjoy the morning under the white pines and eastern hemlocks o North Chagrin Reservation. We will search out the remnants of our spring wildflowers and listen for nesting birds setting up their territories while working toward your Walking Works shield.

Garfield Park Reservation

Brunch at the Falls

Join naturalists for an invigorating walking tour of Garfield Park Reservation including Mill Ceek Falls. This walk will help you work up an appetite so we can return to the area near the nature center to eat our brunch while working toward your Walking Works shield.

Hiking for the Young at Heart

Enjoy a morning stroll around Hinckley Lake. We'll search for wildlife that call the lake home while working toward your Walking Works shield.

North Chagrin Reservation

6 • Wednesday
Mid-Week After Work Hike

Join us a we experience the shade of the eastern hemlocks along the Hemlock trail. We will be following the two largest ravines in the reservation, crossing creeks and valleys. Be prepared to listen to nature's music as day transitions to dusk while working toward your Walking Works shield.
5:30- 7:15 p.m.

Mid-Week After Work Hike

Enjoy a cool hike through the forests in North Chagrin Reservation and complete on of your Walking Works hikes. We'll explore the ravines along the Hemlock trail.

Rocky River Reservation

2 • Saturday
Pond Walk

Explore part of West Channel Pond from the trail. We will be looking for turtles, frogs and birds that live around the pond on this easy hike and get credit for a Walking Works hike.

Terrain: some steps, 0.5 miles

Walking Works Hike

Explore the area around South Mastick and enjoy a stroll through the summer woods searching for nesting birds and early summer flowers and get credit for a Walking Works hike.

Terrain: level, often muddy, 0.8 miles

25 • Monday
Full Moon Frolic

The balmy nights of summer are perfect for a moonlight stroll! Join Bethany Majeski for a hike around West Channel Pond, where we'll search for signs of nocturnal wildlife while working toward our Walking Works shields.

Walking Works Hike - Mill Creek Falls

Join us for this naturalist-led hike to the awesome Mill Creek Falls. Mill Creek Falls has played an important part in our local history. Come and learn about Cuyahoga County's highest waterfall. This hike counts toward your Walking Works shield.

Hike the Hemlock Trail

Stroll along a hemlock lined ravine and get a glimpse of what forests are like in more northern regions. Find out why hemlocks thrive in ravines and what threatens their future.

Celebrate the first day of autumn with a hike around the woods near Mastick Picnic Area.

The air is crisp and the trails are perfect for hiking! Join Naturalist Pam Taylor as she leads you along the Deer Lick Cave Loop Trail. This hike counts towards your Walking Works shield.

Need motivation this fall? Meet your fellow walkers for the second hike in our fall walking series. We'll engage in a brisk, naturalist-led hike for our health. During this hike we hope to enjoy the beautiful colors at Mill Creek Falls.

Out to Lunch Walks - West Canal Trailhead

Instead of fast food how about a fast walk at lunchtime today? Watch the leaves change as we walk a different part of the towpath trail each week. We will walk briskly for 30 minutes. Dress for the weather and wear walking footwear. This hike counts toward your Walking Works shield.
