Now in its second season, Cleveland Metroparks will offer two distinctly different adult golf leagues. Both leagues will utilize Cleveland Metroparks Golf Courses, May through September, on weekday mornings.
The “Competitive” League will rotate playing 18 holes at Manakiki, Shawnee Hills, Sleepy Hollow, Big Met, and Seneca on Tuesday mornings. The “Social” League will rotate playing 9 holes at Washington, Little Met, Mastick Woods, Shawnee Hills Par 3, and Seneca on Wednesday mornings. See schedules on the reverse side.
There is a $25 registration fee to join each league. Green fees will be paid upon arrival at each host site. League members, age 62 & above, will pay the senior rate. League members, age 18 to 61, will pay the regular weekday rate. Rental riding carts and pull carts are optional and to be paid upon arrival.
Each league member may select one partner with whom he/she may always be paired. It is recommended to select a partner who matches the desire to walk or ride. Other members of the foursome will be randomly selected.
The leagues will offer a season-long point competition. Each week participation points will be available. In May, the league will play for average. Starting in June, participants will receive two points for every stroke below his/her average and lose one point for every stroke above. There will be a season ending championship. In general, USGA golf rules will prevail, with a number of exceptions. The maximum allowable score per hole will be four over par. Winter rules will be played in the player’s own fairway only.
The planned communication for this league (starting times, results, standings, etc.) will be provided through email. It is necessary that each league member, or at least one of the partners, has access to email.
