October Hayrides
Chalet Recreation Area
Mill Stream Run Reservation • Strongsville
Saturdays throughout October Saturday Nights (October 8, 15, 22 and 29) • 6 – 10 p.m.,
Sundays throughout October Sunday Afternoons (October 9, 16, 23, and 30) • Noon – 4 p.m.
Fall Hayrides (cost includes hayride and entertainment)
Adults $7.50
Children (ages 3 - 11) $5.50
Children (under 2) Free - must sit on an adult lap for the hayrides.
The public, tractor-drawn hayrides are offered on a first-come, first
–served basis, and leave approximately every half hour. All hayrides are ADA accessible.
In addition to hayrides, enjoy free activities including square dancing for all ages, scavenger hunts, a hay maze, and a face-painting & balloon-twisting clown.
On Sundays, free bonus activities include coloring and craft stations, Haystack the Scarecrow, pumpkin carving demonstrations with Rock on Ice, and free treat bags to kids 11 and under dressed in Halloween costumes (with paid admission). And pick out a pumpkin to paint a cool design and take home (a nominal fee).
Plus, don't miss Cleveland State University's Street Team and Magnus the mascot on Sunday, October 16 and Saturday, October 22 with games and activities to play, too!
And, the Lake Erie Monsters Street Team will be at the Chalet on Sunday, October 23 from noon to 3 p.m. with games, activities and Sully the mascot.
Throwing hay is permitted.
Horse-Drawn Wagonrides
Saturday, October 15 from 2 - 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 23 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Horse-Drawn Wagonrides will be offered at $12 per person, and include the half-hour leisurely ride, hot cider/hot chocolate, a snack, and kids goodie bags (11 and under with ticket purchase). The horse-drawn rides are by reservation only, and space is limited.
Enjoy Group Hayrides!
A limited number of group hayrides are available before, during and after public hours. ($145 per wagon). Each wagon holds approximately 25 kids or 20 adults.
Dayrides
Special Dayrides will be offered on Friday, October 14 and Friday, October 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wagons accommodate 20 adults or up to 25 children and are reservable for $85 per wagon. Reservations are required and registration begins September 1.
October 28 - Special Naturalist-led Dayrides
Why do the leaves change color? What are the squirrels doing with all those nuts? Join the new Special Naturalist-led Tours for an interpretive hayride through the changing woods of autumn in Mill Stream Run Reservation. Learn about some of the wild things that live here and how they spend autumn preparing for the winter to come. Bring your binoculars as we will have some spectacular views of the east branch of the Rocky River. All are welcome on this fun accessible hayride. Wagons leave every hour on the hour.
