West Creek Reservation was closed Friday, April 8 for the long anticipated construction of improvements to West Creek Reservation including the Watershed Center, maintenance facility, reserved picnic area with flush restrooms, new entry drive, all purpose trail and nature trails.
Construction began last week with the installation of orange fence along the project’s “ limits of construction. ” At this time, the entire northern portion of the reservation is closed from West Ridgewood Drive south to Center Park due to anticipated construction activities progressing concurrently throughout that area.
Clearing operations began April 11 and will be followed by the pad preparation activities for both the Watershed Center and the management facility. With closing of the entry drive and gravel parking lot off West Ridgewood Drive visitors can access West Creek Reservation at Center Park (on Park Drive off State Road/Route 94). Completion of construction is set for fall 2012.
